Class Policies

Class Assignment

Classes are grouped according to age and ability. After the intermediate level, classes are grouped according to ability. Students might also be eligible for admission into the Dance Express Company and/or our Competition Team.

Calendar and Schedule

Hard copies of the class schedule are available at the front desk, and all schedules and the Dance Express event calendar are available online by clicking here.

Cancellations and Make-Ups

Schedule changes: If the schedule needs to change for any reason Dance Express will let you know with as much advanced notice as possible.

Snow: When public schools are closed due to the weather, we will generally be closed as well. No tuition reimbursement will be made, but classes can be made up for days missed due to snow closings. When schools open late we will have classes at normal class times.

Illness: You do not need to call if your child will be out sick, just make the class up within one month of the absence.

When in doubt about closings please call Dance Express 516.295.2800. Additionally, closings will be posted on this website's homepage.

Observing a Class

We ask that parents not watch classes so that the students aren't distracted. You may watch the first class when you sign up if you choose. We also set aside special days for parents/family visiting the last lesson before Holiday Break in December (You will receive a reminder of this).
